A site in the centre of the village, distinguished by its natural beauty and topography, which the project seeks to preserve and enhance, contains two pre-existing buildings in poor condition but with recoverable value and the potential to define strategies for the occupation of the site.
Designed for independent older adults, the project values their autonomy while integrating it within the sense of community afforded by its location in the heart of the village. The restored main building accommodates the shared facilities, while the residential units are distributed across the site according to the topography, boundaries and solar orientation. The proposal seeks an appropriate scale for a more domestic and private way of living, where the outdoors—the natural landscape—becomes the principal public space, fostering relationships among all residents.
