The project to redesign the existing bookshop space has as its main objective the creation of a new identity for a traditional and classic religious product, capable of unifying the various bookshops within the network. To innovate and update without neglecting the message of the publishing project, through clear and luminous spaces, versatile enough to accommodate a range of products—books and religious items—and activities—book launches, talks and film screenings.

With a more cosmopolitan image—and use—the bookshop in the Pombaline Downtown district seeks to make the most of all available resources within a space of many constraints: to recover and reinforce its relationship with the exterior; to extend natural light to the lower floor; and to increase the versatility of the space by designing the large counter on the upper floor as a movable element, allowing for a larger free area for occasional events.
