Missionary Institute in Benguela

The new building for the Missionary Institute of the Society of Saint Paul / Paulus Publishing House, in Benguela, accommodates the Institute’s residence and seminary, as well as the publishing house’s warehouse, bookshop and offices. It is a place for living and working that also serves as a space for welcoming and engaging with the local community.

The design of the complex, inspired by monastic architecture, seeks to create living spaces, cloisters and outdoor circulation areas that reinforce the identity of each part of the building. Every room opens onto a courtyard, creating outdoor reference spaces that encourage interaction and a sense of community among the residents.
